"Breckenridge Farmstay" houses a number of different animals, all very safe for children.
We have a variety of cattle including Murray Greys and some cross breeds.
Handfeeding the gentle, tame cattle delights young children who can experience this rare opportunity.
Even some Mums have been known to enjoy the experience....
|
| The friendly chickens wander casually around the farm, but do enjoy the occasional cuddle.
Children are often quite surprised to find out where an egg does actually come from... |
|
Wildlife....
There is an abundance of wildlife around the farm.
The familiar laugh of the Kookaburra can be heard as you wake in the morning and again as the sun sets over the forest.
During the day the farm teams with the sound of other birds including butcher birds, pee wees, and a host of parrots including rosellas, cockatoos and rainbow lorikeets.
|
| Blue tongue lizards, water dragons and other reptiles are frequently seen around the farm.
Whilst some care should be taken with some, the vast majority are absolutely harmless, despite their fearsome protective appearance. |
|
Leisure....
Feeding time at the farm is always a fun time....tho as long as you can keep a secret, it really should be more like work!
Kids especially adore the hay rides around the farm at feeding time...
|
| For those with a sporting nature the farm includes a golf driving range.
After your happy with your driving and putting, there's always time to catch up on the news with local or interstate papers.
A leisurely stroll through the bush tracks and appetites can be satisfied with a lovely cooked breakfast, lunch or dinner. |
